Please take a moment to read this Privacy Policy carefully so that you understand your rights and our responsibilities regarding your information. This Policy also explains your choices regarding how we use your information. Your choices include how to object to certain uses of your information and how to access and update certain of your information. By using the Service, you consent to our collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
References in this Privacy Policy to "Elajo," "we," or "us" refer to Elajo., a Delaware corporation, the developer and operator of the Elajo website and related services (the "Service"). Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms of Service.
1. What Information We Collect
Information You Share with Us
We need certain information to provide you with the Services. For example, you may register for an account to purchase or use the Services. When you choose to share the following information with us, we collect and use that information to operate our Services.
Account Information. When you use the Services, you may provide information that may be Personal Information, such as your username, password, phone number, and email address.
User Content. The Services may include publicly accessible blogs, community forums, or private messaging features. The Services may also include links and interactive features with various social media platforms. If you use these platforms, their cookies may be set on your device when you use our Services or other services. You should be aware that Personal Information you voluntarily provide and transmit online in publicly accessible blogs, chat rooms, social media platforms, or other online platforms, or share in public forums, may be viewed and used by others without restriction. We cannot control the use of your information when interacting with social media platforms, and by using such services, you assume the risk that the Personal Information you provide may be viewed and used by third parties for various purposes.
Payment Information. When you make a purchase through the Services, we process your payment through a third-party application. Third-party applications may collect payment information, including your credit or debit card number, card expiration date, CVV code, and billing address, to enable you to purchase items offered on our Services.
Information We Collect Automatically
We automatically receive and record information about your use of the Services, including application usage, your IP address, and cookie information. This information is used to optimize your user experience. Generally, the Services automatically collect usage information, such as the number of users of the Services and the frequency of their use. We may use this data in aggregate form (i.e., for statistical measurement purposes), but not in a manner that personally identifies you. This aggregate data enables us, and third parties we authorize, to understand how often individuals use parts of the Services for analysis and improvement purposes.
Cookies. Cookies are pieces of text that may be transferred to your computer through your web browser when you visit a website. Your browser stores cookies in a manner associated with each website you visit. We use cookies to enable our servers to recognize your web browser and inform us of how and when you use the Services. Most browsers offer an option to turn off cookies, which prevents your browser from accepting new cookies and, depending on the sophistication of your browser software, allows you to decide whether to accept each new cookie in various ways. We strongly recommend that you keep cookies active, as they enable you to take full advantage of the most engaging features of the Services.
Pixel Tags/Web Beacons. A pixel tag (also known as a web beacon) is a piece of code embedded on a website that collects information about user interactions on that page. Using pixels allows us to record information such as whether a user has visited a particular page or clicked on a particular advertisement. Ads served through the Services may be targeted to users who fit certain general profile categories and may be based on anonymous information inferred from information users provide to us (including personal information such as gender or age), specific user usage patterns on the Services, or your activity on third-party services. We do not provide personal information to any advertising network for use outside of the Services. To improve the effectiveness of advertising, we may send you files from advertising networks (called "web beacons") through the Services. Web beacons allow advertising networks to provide anonymous, aggregated auditing, research, and reporting for us and advertisers. Web beacons also enable advertising networks to serve targeted advertising to you when you visit other websites. Because your web browser must request these ads and web beacons from the ad network's servers, these companies can view, edit, or set their own cookies, just as if you were requesting a web page from their website.
Social Media Widgets. Our website includes social media features, such as the Facebook "Like" button, which may include widgets such as "Share This" buttons or other interactive mini-programs. These features may collect your IP address, the page you are visiting on our website, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. These social media features are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our website. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing the feature.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"), to collect information about how users use our Service. For more information about Google Analytics, visit www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/. You can visit http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Aggregate Information. We collect statistical information about how both unregistered and registered users use the Service ("Aggregate Information"). Some of this information is derived from Personal Information. This statistical information is not Personal Information and cannot be associated with you, your account, or your web browser.
2. How We Use Information
While we believe that collecting and processing your information is in our legitimate business interests, we take your privacy seriously. We use your information for a variety of purposes. The following are specific purposes for which we use the information we collect about you.
Providing Services and Personalizing Your Experience. We use your information to provide you with Services, including processing your payment transactions, verifying your identity when you log in, providing customer support, and operating and maintaining the Services.
For Research and Development. We are constantly striving to make our Services smarter, faster, more secure, more integrated, and more useful. To do this, we leverage our collective experience with how users use our Services, as well as feedback we receive directly from users, to troubleshoot issues and identify trends, usage patterns, activity patterns, and areas for integration and improvement.
Communicating with you about the Services. We use your contact information to send transactional communications via email and within the Services, including confirming your purchases, responding to your comments, questions, and requests, providing customer support, and sending you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and administrative messages.
For Marketing, Promotion, and Increased Engagement with the Services. We use your contact information and information about how you use the Services to send you promotional communications that may be of particular interest to you, including through email, ads on other companies' websites and apps, and on platforms like Facebook and Google. These communications are designed to increase your engagement and maximize your benefits from the Services, and may include information about new features, survey requests, events, and other information we think may be of interest to you. We may also communicate with you about new product offers, promotions, and contests.
To conduct surveys and collect feedback about our Services. We do this to protect our legitimate interests, understand whether our Services are helpful to you, and assess the effectiveness of any updates we provide.
For customer support. We use your information to troubleshoot technical issues you encounter, respond to your assistance requests, analyze crash information, and fix and improve the Services.
For security. We use information about you and your use of the Services to verify accounts and activity, monitor for suspicious or fraudulent activity, and identify violations of our Service policies.
To protect our legitimate business interests and legal rights. We use your information for legal claims, compliance, regulatory, and audit functions, and for disclosures in connection with business acquisitions, mergers, or divestitures, where required by law, where we believe it is in our legitimate business interests, or where it is necessary to protect our rights and interests or those of others.
With Your Consent. We may use your information for specific purposes not listed above with your consent. For example, with your consent, we may publish customer testimonials or featured customer stories to promote our services.
Other Purposes. We may process your information for any other purposes related to our services that we disclose to you from time to time. If we intend to use your personal data for purposes other than those listed above, we will provide you with relevant information and, where necessary, obtain your consent prior to processing.
Legal Basis for Processing (for EEA Users): If you are an individual in the European Economic Area (EEA), we collect and process information about you only where we have a legal basis under applicable EU law. The legal basis depends on the services you use and how you use them. This means we only collect and use your information if: we need it to provide you with the Services, including operating the Services, providing customer support and personalized features, and protecting the security of the Services; it is in our legitimate interests (not overridden by your data protection interests), such as for research and development, marketing and promoting the Services, and protecting our legal rights and interests; you have consented to us using your information for a specific purpose; or we need to process your data to comply with a legal obligation.
If you have consented to us using your information for a specific purpose, you have the right to change your mind at any time, but this will not affect any processing that has already taken place. If we use your information for our legitimate interests or those of a third party (such as your employer), you have the right to object to that use, but in some cases, this may mean you no longer use our Services.
3. How We Share Information
We may share your information with third-party service providers to comply with legal obligations, protect and defend our rights and property, or with your permission. The following are specific ways we share the information we collect about you.
Communicating with Us. As part of the Services, you may occasionally receive text messages, emails, and other communications from us, such as those related to your account. If we communicate with you via text message, standard text message rates will apply.
User Profile Information. Your user profile information (including your username and other information you enter) may be displayed to other users to facilitate interactions on the Services. We do not directly disclose users' email addresses to other users.
Information Shared with Our Agents. We employ and contract with individuals and other entities under our control to perform specific tasks on our behalf (our "Agents"). We may need to share personal information with our Agents to provide you with products or services. Unless we provide you with further notice, our Agents are not authorized to use personal information or other information we share with them beyond the scope necessary to assist us. You hereby consent to our sharing of personal information with our Agents.
IP Address Information. We collect and store IP address information, but this information is not publicly available. However, we may sometimes share this information with our partners, service providers, and others with whom we do business, as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy.
Aggregate Information. We share aggregate information with our partners, service providers, and others with whom we do business. We share this statistical data so that our partners can understand how and how often users use our Services and their own services or websites, which helps us improve their services and how our services interact with them. In addition, these third parties may share with us non-private, aggregated, or other non-personal information about you that they independently develop or obtain.
Interest-Based Advertising. We may allow third-party advertising partners to set tracking tools (such as cookies) to collect information about your activities (such as your IP address, pages visited, and time of visit). We may also share this de-identified information, along with certain Personal Information we collect (such as demographic information and past purchase history), with third-party advertising partners. These advertising partners may use this information (and similar information collected from other websites) to deliver targeted ads to you when you visit other websites within their networks. This practice is often referred to as "interest-based advertising" or "online behavioral advertising." We may provide access to other data collected by this website in order to deliver information that is useful, relevant, valuable, or potentially of interest to you.
Information Disclosed in Response to Business Transfers. In certain circumstances, we may choose to buy or sell assets. In such transactions, user information is generally one of the transferred business assets. Furthermore, if we or substantially all of our assets were acquired, or if we go out of business or enter bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of us or our assets may continue to use your personal information as described in this policy.
Information Disclosed to Protect Us and Others. We also reserve the right to access, read, preserve, and disclose any information as we reasonably believe is necessary to: (i) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; (ii) enforce these Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations; (iii) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues; (iv) respond to user support requests; or (v) protect our rights, property, or safety, our users, and the public. This includesExchange information with other companies and organizations to prevent fraud and spam/malware.
Information We Share with Your Consent: We will share your personal information with any parties you authorize us to share it with.
4. How We Store and Protect Information
Ensuring the security of your information is our top priority. To this end, we follow industry-standard best practices to protect your information. We use a US-based data hosting provider to host the information we collect and use technical measures to protect your data. While we implement security measures designed to protect your information, no security system is impenetrable, and due to the inherent nature of the internet, we cannot guarantee that data will be absolutely secure from intrusion while transmitted over the internet, stored on our systems, or otherwise in our care. The length of time we retain the information we collect about you depends on the type of information, as described below. After that, we will delete or anonymize your information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because the information has been stored in backup archives), we will securely store your information and isolate it from any further use until deletion is possible.
Account Information: We will retain your account information until you delete your account. We also retain some of your information as needed to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, support business operations, and continually develop and improve our Services. When we retain information to improve and develop our Services, we take steps to remove information that directly identifies you, and we only use this information to uncover aggregate insights about usage of our Services, not to profile your personal characteristics.
Information You Share on the Services: If your account is deactivated or disabled, some of your information and the content you provide will be retained.
Marketing Information: If you choose to receive marketing emails from us, we will retain information about your marketing preferences unless you explicitly request that we delete such information. We retain information collected through cookies and other tracking technologies for a reasonable period of time, starting from the date the information was created.
5. How to Access and Control Your Information
You have the right to request a copy of your information, object to our use of your information (including for marketing purposes), request deletion or restriction of your information, or request access to your information in a structured electronic format. The tools and processes for making these requests are described below.
Accessing and Updating Your Information: Our Services and related documentation allow you to access and update certain information about you within the Services. You can update your profile information in your profile settings and modify content containing your information using the editing tools associated with that content.
Deactivate your account. You can deactivate your access to the Services at any time.
Delete your information. Our Services and related documentation allow you to delete certain information about you within the Services. However, please note that we may need to retain certain information for recordkeeping, to complete transactions, or to comply with our legal obligations.
Request us to stop using your information. In certain circumstances, you may request that we stop accessing, storing, using, or otherwise processing your information if you believe we have no right to do so. For example, if you believe someone has created a Service account for you without your permission or you are no longer an active user, you may request that we delete your account in accordance with this Policy. If you have consented to us using your information for limited purposes, you may withdraw that consent by contacting us, but this will not affect any processing that has already occurred. You may also opt out of us using your information for marketing purposes by contacting us as described below. When you make such a request, it may take us time to investigate and assist you with your request. If there is a delay or dispute regarding our right to continue using your information, we will limit further use of your information until your request is processed or the dispute is resolved, provided your administrator does not object (if applicable). If you object to having your information shared with a third-party application, please disable the application or contact your administrator to do so.
Opt-out of Communications. You can opt-out of receiving promotional communications from us by using the unsubscribe link in each email, updating your email preferences in your Service account settings menu, or contacting us as described below to have your contact information removed from our promotional email lists or registration databases. Even if you opt-out of our promotional communications, you will continue to receive transactional communications from us regarding our Services. You can opt-out of certain notification messages in your account settings.
Sending Do Not Track Signals. Some browsers have integrated Do Not Track (DNT) features that send a signal to websites you visit indicating that you do not want to be tracked. We support Do Not Track (DNT). Do Not Track is a preference you set in your web browser that tells websites that you do not want to be tracked. You can enable or disable Do Not Track by visiting your web browser's "Preferences" or "Settings" page.
Data portability. Data portability means you can obtain some of your information in a format that you can transfer from one service provider to another (for example, when you transfer your mobile phone number to another carrier). Depending on the circumstances, this applies to some, but not all, of your information. If you request it, we will provide you with an electronic file containing your basic account information and the information you create in a space that you fully control.
6. How We Transfer Data Internationally
To provide you with our services, we operate globally. If permitted by the laws of your country, you authorize us to transfer, store, and use your data in the United States. Some of the countries to which we transfer personal data may have different privacy and data protection laws, as well as rules regarding when government agencies can access data, than the laws of your country.
When we transfer personal data outside of the EU or EFTA countries, we ensure adequate protection for the rights of data subjects based on the adequacy of the receiving country's data protection laws, the recipient's contractual obligations (available through the model clauses as described below), or the EU-US and Swiss-US Privacy Shield Principles.
We adhere to the EU-US and Swiss-US Privacy Shield Principles (the "Principles") regarding the collection, use, sharing, and retention of personal data from the EU and Switzerland. Privacy Shield participants are subject to the investigatory and enforcement powers of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and other authorized statutory authorities. In certain circumstances, participants may be held liable for the transfer of personal data from the EU or Switzerland to third parties outside of the EU and Switzerland.
